As the increasing of volume of engineering construction in fields such as transportation, construction and irrigation,the demand of hydraulic excavator has risen sharply. As an important complementary product of hydraulic excavators, electronic control system's performance and functionality have a significant impact on the operation, so developing a good electronic control system has a high market value and practical significance.Based on some medium-sized hydraulic excavators of XX Company, an overall design is proposed according to the analysis of domestic and foreign status of electrical control technology,which is based on CAN bus. At present,the electronic control system has successfully passed the test,and will be producted by batch..This design is based on CAN bus which uses the main controller as its center.The main controller is used as central management and centralized control.As extension of main controller,the function of two remote I/O are mainly used to collect the singals of sensors and control peripheral equipments under the control of the main controller. Besides, an intelligent man-machine interface is designed to display operating parameters which is come from the main controller,and communicates with the main controller. As an important complementary product of the electronic control system,GPS remotely monitors and controls hydraulic excavators by communicating with the main controller.The hardware of the main controller and the remote I/O module use ARM7 MCU LPC2368 as microcontrollers, including digital signals inputting module, analog signals inputting module, pulse signal inputting module and power driver outputing modules. CAN bus and RS-232 port are also designed.The software of the electronic control system is designed by modules,includes data inputting,communicating and dealing with the inputting data.The software of the intelligent man-machine interface is designed user-friendly on the basis of fully implementing the function according to the design requirement.
