Along with electrical power system's unceasing development, the large capacity power set and the high pressure transmission system's investment movement one after another, the system will present many breakdown accidents in the movement, like the electric transmission distance will increase, the load will be oversized, the breakdown transition process's transitional quantity will increase and so on, these situations can have many disadvantageous influences to the present commonly used each kind of relay protection method's correct movement, will enable the system the normal operation.This article in the analysis electrical power system breakdown's foundation, studies two failure detection method, has discussed their deficiency, simultaneously, has given own examination method.The main job of this article is:(1) analyzes the electrical power system to have time the breakdown active status, especially has carried on the analysis and the research to the three-phase transmission line's breakdown traveling wave, has inferred the consideration interaction coupling three-phase transmission line voltage equation, and any spot breakdown establishes the transmission line in with a voltage contacting, has obtained in the transmission line the voltage signal in the fault point place irregularity, and constructs the new failure detection algorithm by this achievement the rationale.(2) Apply the singularity detection theory based on wavelet analysis to the power system,faults detection based on the wavelet transformation's irregularity examination theory, in view of present was not ideal, proposed the electrical power system failure detection judgment's supplement basis, through to the basic wavelet's choice, eliminated chirp processing, made the analysis with the fault point examination method, gave a feasible solution, the simulation research had indicated that this was accurate, fast, effective failure detection method.
