Changsha is a historical and cultural city with rich background.In different historical periods, under the difference nature and functions of the city,urban planning is also changing correspondingly.Urban planning has a historical continuity,the planning of yesterday will have an impact on today's planning, planning for today must be oriented to the future of the city.Based on the study of land expansion,this paper describes the assessment of urban planning of Changsha in various historical stages. Learning from history, seriously suming up the past is in order to build the future better.The full text is divided into six chapters,Chapter I focus on the purpose and significance of the study, research content, research methodology and current status of related research; Chapter II visited the development and construction of ancient Changsha; Chapter III clear the context of Changsha modern urban Planning and discuss modern urban planning in detail; Chapter IV separate modern urban planning of Changsha into phases as well as discusss the content and effect of each planning period; Chapter V inspect urban land expansion of Changsha after the founding of PRC and analysis the association of urban land expansion and urban planning; Chapter VI draw on the inspiration about urban Planning of Changsha from history.In this paper, on the basis of the comparison and summary of the various historical stages of Changsha urban construction, author clears the urban planning context,sums land expandsion history of Changsha after 1949 and puts forward a suggestion about the new round rivising of Changsha urban planning.Author hopes this article can be a basic research,providing some new ideas and new methods for the modernization of the Changsha urban construction and urban planning.
