| Like all kinds of completed studies, the narrative research exists time dimension and space dimension. Space narrative of living space is the narrative that makes use of or by means of residential area's public space, which directly derives from life, but also is a distillation of life.This paper is based on the narrative theory, quoted for the public space in our modern residential area, from the three aspects of natural environment, history and culture, and public life, through analysis and comparison of the cases, to analyze the works of the residential area, to find their usual design approach and try to dig the story took place in residential areas of public space.The thesis is composed of six chapters.The first chapter introduces the research background of this thesis and the basic concepts in it, and introduces the primary methods and framework of the research;The second chapter introduces the actuality of the space-narrative design;The third chapter carries out space-narrative in residential area based on the natural environment;The fourth chapter carries out space-narrative in residential area based on the history and culture;The fifth chapter integrates residential living space for the space-narrative;The last chapter of the paper is the summary of living space-narrative research, brings forward the methods of space- narrative, digs the story mining in which.
