Distribution network reconfiguration is not only an important method for circulating and controlling of distribution system, but also an important part of distribution management system. In theory, there exists a best networks tructure for any distribution network. Under the best network structure, the voltage at each load point, network losses and load balance are all better than other feasible methods. The Purpose of distribution network reconfiguration is to adjust the network structures by changing the open/close States of the tie and subsection switches under both normal and abnormal operating conditions. It is helpful to enhance the security, economy and reliability of the system. One effective ways has been proposed to solve the problem: Binary Particle Swarm Optimization based on Multi-agent System technology. Our research work focus on the following aspect:(1)The dissertation reviews different algorithm based on different optimal technology and different objective functions.Based on the research of popular distribution network Powerflow calculation, an optimization model of distribution network reconfiguration is established, in which the minimum network loss is taken as objective function: The updating strategy of the PSO initialization and the operation among Particles are modified to satisfy the traits of distribution network.(2)A new method based on node-branch matrix searching is Presented to identify network radial Pattern. The method is effective, fast , and insensitive to distribution Network topology. New Population generated by common stochastic optimization Algorithm may not ensure that the distribution network has radial Pattenr, which however could be solved by Present method.(3) Combining basic principles and characteristics of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) with Multi-agent System(MS) technology' studying, coordinating strategies are analyzed. BMA-PSO is presented to handle distribution network reconfiguration problem.It apply particle swarm optimization algorithm' Von Neuman architecture to multi-agent system' composition.(4)Through IEEE 16-bus,IEEE 33-bus distribution networks'test, The results testify that BMA-PSO can realize algorithm restraining in the few cycles while the algorithm search precision obtains enhancement.
