With the fast development of urbanization, modernization and advanced education, many campuses are ushered in a potential perspective for addition, renovation, or construction. As the key component of campus' construction, the spatial form design of mountainous campus has become the main aspect for the construction concerned. Restricted by topographical conditions, the issue to be settled appears more profound and special, when compared with its plain counterpart. Thus, the emphasis of this dissertation is correspondingly placed on the strategy to handle the relationship among the increasing space demand, spatial structures, landscape and environmental protection within a limited area.As a starting point, this dissertation established the construction notion in mountainous campus through landscape-ecological views; reviewed its development feature and status in brief; and pointed out the existing confusion for its construction at present. Then, it illustrated the differences of layout between mountainous and general campuses; analyzed the components, characteristics and the influential factors; and put forward relative design principles on the basis of previous paragraphs, which indicated that the construction for the design strategy should be under the guidance of ecology, local conditions, "concentration-dispersion" method, security and aesthetic principles. In line with the view of the whole, system and development, the author performed a systematic study on the design methods applied to the spatial form of mountainous campus, with landscape-ecological theory its foundation. On road system, this thesis mentioned the organization of dynamic and static traffic; on the creation of mountain-feature campus space, analyzed the role and employment of mountains and water; on the extension of mountainous campus space, three patterns were offered, involving the exploitation of both mountainous and underground spaces, as well as the improvement of space utilization. Besides, the author also explored the organization of functional zonings, the application of figure-ground relation, and the perfection of campus skyline in detail. Finally, the dissertation took the new campus planning in Huangdao of Qingdao Technological University as an instance, attempted to analyze and explain the practical application of the design methodology in which this passage constructed.
