Recently, with development of the national economy, the flow measurement plays an increasingly important role in the industry, agricultural as well as in people's daily life. Ultrasonic gas flowmeter is a new kind of flow instrument which works according to acoustics theory. Compared with those traditional gas glow meters such as orifice meters and turbine meters etc.,ultrasonic flow meters have many merits like non-mobile component, little pressure loss and low sensitivity of medium temperature and pressure, which particularly features when measuring on large diameter pipes. This instrument is extensively used in petroleum, natural gas, metallurgy and chemical industry. Through adequate research and access to a large number of domestic and foreign information, as well as analysis and comparison of various flow meters at home and abroad, this project utilizes time difference method to design and make multi-channel ultrasonic flowmeter.Firstly, principles of ultrasonic gas flowmeter and signal detection are explained, multi-channel measurement algorithm, the characteristics of transducer and the flowmeter errors are analyzed in this paper. Secondly, the general design is described. Thirdly, the hardware circuit design of ultrasonic gas flowmeter is introduced, including drive circuit, receiver circuit, amplifier circuit, filter circuit, multi-channel receiver control circuit and power circuit. Fourthly, the LCD display and keyboard are introduced. Finally, the experimental data is analyzed, some suggestions are suggested. The measure data indicates that this multi-channel ultrasonic flowmeter reaches the design requirement.
