Flight Simulator Fault Diagnosis Expert System

Flight simulator which is a kind of expensive high-tech pilot-training device, is a quite complicated device integrated with mechanical, electrical, electronics, and computer technology. Flight simulator maintenance engineers has gained much experience on fault detecting, diagnosis and solving after more than ten year's working on it ,but fault solving process is of still low speed, low efficiency, time-consuming. To helping improve this situation, Expert system is introduced into fault diagnosis of flight simulator in this paper.Basic theory of fault diagnosis and expert system, especially which based on fault tree analysis and rule, are studied in this paper. Development and methods of fault diagnosis, basic structure, operation principle and mainly concern are also discussed.Aiming at the problems existing in maintenance of flight simulator, considering characteristics of expert system, the architecture and fault diagnosis methods of flight simulator, the structure and key realization technology for flight simulator fault diagnosis expert system are studied; the flight simulator fault diagnosis expert system design proposal is given. Research on transforming from fault tree pattern to rule and diagnosis knowledge representing are emphasized, expert system knowledge base is constructed by means of frame plus production knowledge representing method, then certainty and rule based backward chaining inference engine with depth-first and heuristic search mechanism is designed, the system diagnosis flow and inferring flow are also given in this paper. Finally the expert system is tested by a fault solving demonstration.
