The structure of plastic materials sabot and the jacket is studied, which is applied to 25mm APDS which has projected background in practice, A new composite APDS structure is designed using plastic materials sabot and Tungsten which is packaged by Aluminum, the L/D of which is about 40. The principle of clearance meshing technique was introduced; the clearance of a simplified KE projectile was calculated in theory to design the appropriate clearance. How the length and thickness of the sleeve impact projecting intensity is analyzed by the agency of dynamic analysis. Dimensions of the sleeve are elicited after that. With the clearance meshing technique, the max von mises stress of tooth surface is further decreased. It is proved that the use of plastic materials sabot in the new jacket APDS is available. Data analysis proved that: this new kind of APDS improves the L/D, decreases the useless mass, meets projecting intensity request, and improves the armor penetration capability. This paper gave reference to practical application.
