With the social progress and economic development .Transportation of our country and have also been developing rapidly. Under the requirements of speed increasing and the modernization of locomotives, the railway management department put more and more demand to the operation of locomotive. Especially in the current long locomotive shift, single-driver operation mode, the operator need to not only look the front signal, but also attention to the front of unusual circumstances that may arise, and people walking on the track and so on. In this article, focusing on the feature of short illuminate distance of locomotive headlight while running in the mountain and curve track, an auto-steering locomotive headlight had been developed. For the purpose of transportation security, headlight steering subject to the curve automatically, to ensure headlight irradiation at the track center to increase the observation of locomotive operator.This article initially researches the characteristics of the existing headlight device to point out the shortcomings and deficiencies, specify the transformation of its inevitability and urgency. Further investigation at the scene, according to the actual demand of operation, maintenance and management of locomotive headlight steering, summed up the solution and design for the development of locomotive headlight. With the curves data collection, analysis and the principle of the controller to action theoretical analysis; the system control headlight to automatically follow the requirements of the railway track through curve sensor signal acquisition, signal volume and the single-chip signal acquisition, processing and analysis, .Application of single-chip technology, sensor technology and mechatronics control in detail the development of auto-steering locomotive headlight, including sensor selection and installation, design of mechanism and electric control, design of function as well as anti-interference ability of the Products and equipment failure guidance for safety purposes.The new locomotive headlight automatically steering the development and implementation have basically solved the original headlights shortcoming of illumination at short range and inadequate. Headlight Auto-steering device to run stable and reliable; curve sensor can accurately measure the existing curve; controller can analysis and intelligent predict the track situation, closed-loop control automatic steering headlight turn in the right position to ensure the safety of railway operations.
