With the innovation of the power system and the construction of the power marketing, electrical power enters the market as a special product. A city distribution power grid is more and more complicated and the amounts of feeders are increasing. How to monitor and control these feeders becomes the key point.At the same time, the power users put higher demands on the electrical power quality and reliability, with the expected reliability of 99.99 percent. To achieve this goal, in addition to adopting more advanced devices during the course of rebuilding the distribution power grid, implementing automation in distribution power grid step by step is also an important means.To a power grid in a county, city power grid and suburban power grid are divided. Much load is centralized in city power grid with a geographical advantages. While a suburban power grid is of a series disadvantages, such as big power-providing sphere, small line diameter, more threat to power grid safety, higher fault rates, more difficulties in looking for reasons. But to the two above grid, the key means of promoting the reliability of power-providing is to use the fastest and simplest method to eliminate the fault in the lines, and resolve this problem with lower cost.To implement distribution power grid automation in a county power grid, "hand-in-hand" mode is adopted first, the terminal ftu can detect phase fault, the main station system has SCADA and FA function, and interface function with GIS system and other systems are also necessary.Taking Jinxiang county power grid as an example, show how to combine the current condition of the power grid and the construction layout of the power grid, set up the distribution automation system, including main station system layer, communication layer and terminal devices layer.
