The electric power plays an important role in the rapid development of our economic and industrial and improvement of people’s living standard. The Power system consists of power generation, transmission and distribution system. Distribution system, refers to the system where exported from buck distribution substation(HV distribution substations) to the consumers. In order to keep the reliability of the power distribution network and improve the supply quality of power company, technology advancement of the distribution network and usage of distribution automation system is the reliable way to achieve safe, economical and stable operation of the distribution network.With the vigorously development of the smart grid, it’s necessary for us to establish a distribution automation system. Distribution Automation system use modern electronic technology, communication technology, computer and network technology to realize monitor, protection, control and distribution management under the uptime and accident conditions of distribution system. The building of distribution automation system started later in Country Ren, it is unable to adapt to the needs of customers for electricity power quality. Based on the distributing network of Ren County, the paper summarized the theories of distribution automation system, and made an overall plan of distribution system according to Ren County’s power grid construction and future planning. With the problems exist in Ren County’s weak distribution network structure, feeder automatic fault isolation, shortages in communication systems and management aspects, this paper proposed a distribution automation structural model of Ren County, and designed the parts of distribution network master system, sub-station system, distribution network terminals and the means of communication. Finally build a suitable ways and solutions to provide references for Ren County’s distribution automation construction.
