As the fast development of human society, car has already became absolutely necessary vehicle in our daily lives. But lots of cars leading to a lot of traffic accidents become a very serious problem in the development of our society. So the research of automobile collision avoidance radar has very important significance and widely application foreground. In my paper, research on the general design of cars' collision-proof radar will be carried out in the following parts:Firstly, the author gives a general description of the research background, the status now and future development trend of the automobile collision avoidance radar, as well as recent issues such as its performance requirement, detecting means, working frequency, radar signal, etc.Secondly, the author goes on with the design on the structure of triangular waveform linear frequency modulation continuous wave automobile collision avoidance radar and analyzes its signals. By formulating a way to measure distance and speed on the basis of such waveform, the coupling problem of time and distance can be solved successfully. Besides, tests would be carried out on system emulate, under different speeds and distances in circumstances similar to reality. Then, the study on saw-tooth waveform linear frequency modulation continuous wave automobile collision avoidance radar is carried out, with analysis on its signals and its way to measure distance and speed. System simulation and speed-and-distance measurement would be carried out similarly. In the last part of this paper, the results of simulation tests are studied thoroughly and the two radars are compared in detail in terms of their measurement accuracy, accessibility, and hardware cost. Results can be came out as that triangular waveform frequency modulation continuous wave, compared to saw-tooth waveform linear frequency modulation continuous wave, has the advantage of a much higher resolution, the ability to eliminate the coupling phenomena of moving objects in a multi-object environment, and the lower cost of information-processing hardware. So it has promising future.
