With the rapid development of society and economy, power quality problems are getting worse, so making efficient power quality monitoring is becoming increasingly important. Traditional power monitoring equipments usually have simple functions, and also have no network interface, therefore they can not meet the real-time on-line monitoring requirements.This paper presents a ARM-based long-distance power quality monitoring methods which complete the acquisition of real-time signal and built-in a WEB server using embedded linux that has the TCP/IP protocol stack. It also provides a on-site human-computer interface. Network users can visit the system with any WEB browser.First of all ,this paper narrates the power quality monitor's domestic and international development situation and some power quality standards, then it gives the appropriate measurement methods, at last it builds a monitoring system from hardware and software aspects. In hardware design it mainly discusses the various hardware module. In software design it first narrates the construction of embedded linux system, and then the coding and amendment of linux operating system interface drivers programming. It mainly focuses on the A/D converter's driver and embedded database sqlite transplanting. In application procedures, it introduces the realization of the most important harmonic algorithm (FFT algorithm) in the processing of the data, the configuration for long-range monitoring Boa server and the production of QT interface displaying.
