Evolution Of Suzhou City

The city of Suzhou is in a historical transition stage. It is important to exhibit Suzhou's characteristic in constructing modernization of civilized city by combining the characteristic of Suzhou's history and culture. This article traverses the process of development and evolvement in Suzhou since the time it was built by analyzing literature, history of district, information from archaeology about Suzhou. And it also analyzes and discusses rationality and deficiency of Suzhou's construction nowadays while it summarizes disciplinarian and characteristic of Suzhou's development in historical stage. We will have a corresponding appraisement basing on it.As to the development of Suzhou, firstly we analyze Suzhou's geographical environment, predominance of it's special waterway, and abundant natural resource. Then we study the function performed by these advantages in Suzhou's development and point out that the development of Suzhou is depending on it's unique geographical environment.Secondly we analyze and discuss different typical historical stages of Suzhou basing on literature and archaeological accomplishment. Then we can know Suzou changed from the city of landscapes to gardens. And we also can nail down the time "heaven city" formed and grasp the disciplinarian of Suzhou's development. The article has microcosmic analyse, macroscopical conclusion and it is a complementarity to correlative research.Lastly we analyze rationality and deficiency of Suzhou's construction nowadays and point out that it is necessary to learn from the pattern of "every towns gathered into a center" in history. According to the rule of "the relation between ancient charm and modern attractiveness is continuous ",We think that people in Suzhou should grasp the city's cultural pulse. And it is a constructive advice of construction in Suzhou.
