Blade is seen as one key part of steam turbine. Capability and efficiency of Steam turbine depend on design and machining of blade surface. Blade is very difficulty to be manufactured because its material is stainless steel. And its surface is complex free surface. Belt grinding is an old and new manufacture method. With the development of NC, belt grinding almost can manufacture all kinds of materials. Especially, belt grinding can manufacture complex surface.Constructing three-dimensional model and building NC code of blade are key technology for belt grinding. By CAD/CAM, model of blade can be constructed; available manufacture technics can be built; NC code of blade belt grinding also can be built automatically, it will advance design efficiency and manufacture quality of blade. It is direction of blade manufacture technique.This thesis is one of the important parts of'CNC Steam Turbine blade Belt Grinding Machine'. This thesis is studied based on analysis of shape character and machining method of turbine blade. In this thesis, with the help of UG, steam turbine blade CAD/CAM system is further developed; key technology of constructing blade and building NC code are solved. The system can change tradition design and manufacture for blade, and can enhance design and manufactured quality of blade. By using the system, cost of development blade is cut down; labor intensity of workers is lightened. The system is better than traditional design and manufacture system.In this thesis,shape character and function of blade are analyzed. With the help of CAGD theory, construct technique of blade is researched. The method about constructing blade is developed. By researching blade belt grinding, the method of building NC code is developed.The CAD/CAM system about steam turbine blade in UG environment is researched and developed by UG/Open and VC++ 6.0. The three-dimensional model of the blade is constructed automatically with the CAD/CAM soft system. The belt grinding NC code of the turbine blade is built automatically with CAM module. The CAD/CAM system is convenient, precision and pithiness.Blade belt grinding is simulated in UG environment. By using analysis method of section error, manufacture error of blade belt grinding is analyzed. Feasible grinding technics parameters and grinding tool parameters are confirmed.
