Accuracy of power measurement is equally important to power suppliers and consumers. With low accuracy and simple function, traditional power meter can't meet the requirement of accuracy. As the increasing the nonlinear loads to the electric equipments, the power net have been seriously vitiated by the harmonious waves. In such condition, it is necessary to develop new technology and device. Meanwhile, DSP technology has achieved much development.Entrusted by Analog Device Inc of Shanghai, we adopt BLACKFIN531 16 bits fixed point DSP chip, produced in 2004 by Analog Device Incorporation. To break through the disadvantages and limitations of the existing power meter, this project did some research and developed a multi-function power meter with high accuracy based on DSP. We applied many new results of theory in this project. The accuracy of power measurement reaches 0.2S grade and harmonic measurement 0.5%. Under particular definition, the reactive power measurement method suits non-sinusoidal circuit as well as sinusoidal circuit. The paper includes seven chapters:1. Briefly introduced the development status of power meter and testified the necessity and plausibility of the project.2. Discussed the measurement theory of power meter. Designed the measurement algorithms of the system.3. Introduced the hardware platform and the developing environment.4. Introduced the hardware design of the system. 5. Analyzed the system error and related calibration.6. Introduced the software design of the system.7. Tested the system and made a conclusion.
