Under the circumstance of energy crisis, the energy efficient building is an inevitable trend for the building development. In the 21st century, It has been the main research interest and development direction for energy efficiency in buildings to make full and efficient use of solar energy.Whereas the economic status in our country, it is unfit to apply the high cost technology of developed country to solar-technology of architecture. Furthermore, for the mass of building in relation with the national economy and the people's livelihood, application technology would be more convenient for popularizing if it is simple and practical. With the enhancement of the standard of living and the attention to the health, energy efficiency is only acceptable when the design leads to a comfortable, healthy working environment. So the emphasis of this subject will be the low cost adapted technology, which could maximize the benefits of the building fabric in terms of reducing the heating and cooling loads and achieve indoor thermal comfort without too much investment.This dissertation can be divided in four parts. Through the analysis of background and actuality of the energy efficient in buildings, the first part fetches out the application of solar. The second part places the emphasis on the theory, which brings forward the practical strategy, method and object of solar-technology. Study on solar design strategies in buildings makes the basis of design practice. The third part involves practice. In this part, the writer participates in the practice of Green Student Dormitory in Shandong Institute of Architecture and Engineering depending on the theory of second part. I check up the theory of solar building design strategy and put forward the improved advice adapted to the project through repeated modification of design project, the analysis and simulation of capability, being strict with the construction quality, examining the heating capability after establishment and questionnaire investigation. The last part is the theory popularization. In this part, I put forward the solar technology design and practice thought, which is more perfectly doable and capable of improving the indoor thermal comfort in effect. It makes the basis of design method adapted to energy efficiency in dwelling and business building, which will be investigated thoroughly and popularized in the future.This dissertation uses the research method of linking theory with practice, starting with the solar technology of heating and natural ventilation. The research subject is a great amount of energy-intensive college dormitories, which are the representative and has the value of popularization. I try to find the break of the research in solar-heat enery using.
