Ramie and sisal fiber reinforced polypropylene composites have been successfully fabricated due to the problem in automobile interior and the requirement of automobile development in saving energy sources,lighting weight,safety and recycle by methods of melt-blending and injection molding which has a great deal and continuous machining, and avoid wasting of materials.Different eco-materials have been fabricated by varying the fiber length,fiber content and fiber pre-treatment. The mechanical properties of the fabricated composites are in depth studied by testing and analyses the typical tensile stress-strain curve,the flexural stress-deflection curve,the compressive stress-deflection curve, the impact strength curve and observed microstructures of the ruptured surfaces by SEM.The mechanical properties of ramie fiber reinforced polypropylene (RF/PP) composites were test,the results show that the tensile strength,flexural strength and compression strength are apparently improved with the increase of fiber length and fiber content,while the impact strength and elongation behaviors are not the case. The optimization value of ramie fiber length and fiber content are 10mm,20wt%,respectively. The pre-treatment with 15% NaOH is benefit for the mechanical properties of RF/PP. If the composites with the 20% fiber is put into different content of polyethylene, the tenacity of composites are improved.The maximal tensile strenrth,flexural strength,compression strength and impact strength is 38.1MPa, 51.2MPa,53.6MP and 3.66KJ/m2 respectively. The tensile strength and flexural strength rise to 50% and 28% compared with that of common materials in automobile interior.The mechanical properties of sisal fiber reinforced polypropylene (SF/PP) composites were test,the results show that the tensile strength,flexural strength and compression strength are apparently improved with the increase of fiber length and fiber content,while the impact strength and elongation behaviors are not the case. The optimization value of sisal fiber length and fiber content are 8mm and 20wt%. The pre-treatment with15% NaOH is good to the mechanical properties of SF/PP.If the composites with the 20% fiber is put into different content of polyethylene,the tenacity of composites are improved.The maximal tensile strenrth,flexural strength, compression strength and impact strength is 34MPa,49.9MPa,49.2MP and 3.8KJ/m2 respectively in the testing. The tensile strength and flexural strength rise to 36% and 24% compared with that of common materials in automobile interior.The mechanical properties of RF/PP and SF/PP composites, not only meet the requirement of current standards of automobile interiors,but also show the better properties than those of current standerds,will instead of glass fiber which has high density,non- recycle and pollution. Moreover,in this work,the best manufacture technics of the composites give the reference for automobile industry.
