Since the land resources shortage, people depend on ocean resources more and more, had been studied. Meanwhile, the technique of ocean engineering and the method of design theory had been improved recently. However, the ocean environment is complex, influenced by various factors, the development of ocean engineering technology highly depens on science technology.Physical model experiment will simulate actual engineering practice, and its model is reduced according to the same proportion of the actual foundation. In the process of the experiment, a series of half model test are designed to research uplift characteristic of pile-bucket foundation and the rupture in the interior.Firstly, dinital camera with hinh resolution provides a simple, economical and practical solution to the deformation measurement for nranular soil model, The imane matchinn method was em-plowed to track the displacement of the sand particles on models and the concept of isoparametric element used widely in P'RM was introduced to validate the imane and calculate the strain of soil. The performance of this technique is illustrated by an example application in a centrifune test of bearinn capacity of sand foundation. The re-cult consists of the deformation filed distribution of displacement, maximum shear strain and volumetric strain. This method can be used to analyzethe local deformation, shear band and pronressive failure quantitatively for nranular soil.Secondly, we take the sequential pictures of sand transformation using microscope and digital camera. The pictures are analyzed by means of MiVnt image analysis soft, and we will study the basic micro-structure, orientation of sand grain and porosity of sand. Then the basic micro-structure includes area, long and short axis and eccentricity of grains. The paper study the change of the parameters in order to make out the transformation character of sand grains before and after breakage of sand body.The analytical conclusion of model experiment contrast deformation field measure using image analysis and macro-mechanics phenomenon respectively, the results show that the physical model test images of the micro-structure characteristics, vivo response of soil strain distribution changes. As a result, micro-structure characters in the physical model experiment can respond macro-mechanics characteristic, and it is provided with feasibility and research possibility of sand strength and transformation.
