With the spread of microprocessor-based distributed control system (DCS) in power plants, the automated control level of thermal process is greatly enhanced, enabling unified supervisory control of steam turbines and boilers. After recent development, many electric types of equipment are controlled by DCS. For example, sequential control and automated switcher control are applied in station-service power. With the growing competition in power industry, it is more important to decrease the cost of power production. Condition-based Maintenance is a very useful way to make it. The paper is going to find out the merit of Condition-based Maintenance through fault analysis of electric equipment and comparison between several common inspection ways. The remote real time supervisory system is made up of online monitoring, diagnoses and management. The system can find malfunction more quickly and improve validity and precision of insulate test widely. It also supplies data for reasonable quantification and professional decision, which will improve operation rate and reduces cost of product. Through the real time system, the traditional planned- Maintenance can be placed by condition-based Maintenance. A scheme of on-line monitor system based on DCS and FIX is put forward in this paper, which can forecast and diagnose main electric equipment fault through the real time data. By web technology, client users of different limit privilege can get different data of the system at any moment. The necessary and sufficient information makes the good foundation for the work of Condition-based Maintenance.
