In order to meet the growing requirement of various spatial datum and information, people start pay much attention on how to realize the visualization based on 3D GIS. This paper reveals creative way of combining the 3D GIS with the management of basic datum for Urban Metro Transit System (UMTS), trying to improve the development of traditional industry by GIS technology.Under the project of the management of basic datum for UMTS, on the basis of collecting and analyzing relevant datum and materials, the paper research the method of 3D visualization of UMTS.Data is the basis of 3D expression, which makes it important to restore and manage the spatial datum. The quantity of 3D data models is about 100times larger than the one of 2Ds.Spatial data base makes it possible to restore a large quantity of datum. According to the characteristics of the basic datum of Metro Transit and the requirement of 3D Visualization, this paper researches the models of layer management section storage, and quality control, and shows the organization and storage of UTMS'data both in spatial and attribution.Based on the effective management of spatial datum, the forth chapter of this paper mainly studies some key technologies of 3D Visualization of UTMS'basic data. After comparing the advantages and disadvantages of several different 3D soft wares, this paper finally chooses ArcObjects'3D module to display the ability of visualization, and discusses the method of 3D visualization of various basic information (pipeline data, stratum information, architectures and their basic data) alone the urban metros. At the end of this chapter, the paper introduces the ArcObjects, and uses it to develop the UMTS on the platform of ArcGIS'3D module on order to inquire the attribution of all sorts of information alone the metros in 3D scene. The final part is a conclusion that figures out the main work of this paper, and makes a expectation.
