The deeply study on the mechanism of continuous rod warhead driven by the explosion and the spray pattern of the kill element in the target's direction is very important to the designing and optimizing of this kind of warhead. Because of the complexity of the mechanism, the precise theory analysis is very difficult. With the rapid development of the computer technology and numerical methods, nowadays the numerical simulation has become an important assistant to the designing of this kind of warheads.Based on the analysis of the mechanism and structure of continuous rod warhead, we establish the three-dimension FEM models of the typical structure, put these models into the three-dimension FEM analysis program LS-DYNA and calculate it, These numerical simulation include the detonation and structure of main load powder, the spread of the blast wave, the effect of the shape controller of blast wave, the initial driving of the rods by the explosion, the impact to each other among the rods, the rods' flying in the air and so on. Results of numerical simulation are consistent with the literature data. Simulate and discuss the influence of the change material of the shape controller of balst wave, the distances between the rods, and the size of rod and so on to the distribution patterns of these penetrators. After these calculations, some analyses have been done. And then design one kind of optimized the warhead structure, simulated the integrity process of damage to the specific goal, analyzed the influence of rods' parameter to the damage effect. The beneficial reference could be provided when design this kind of warhead.
