Steel rail abrasion of running railway is one of the most importantregularly detecting parameters of railway department.Based on currentcharacteristics and methods of steel rail abrasion detecting equipment athome and abroad, this paper develops a new kind portable and accuratedetector with human machine conversation function according to theactual need of railway system,which puts the end of many disadvantagesof hodiernal detector, such as low-efficiency, big size, unwieldy mass andso on. The system adopts the mode of two cascade sub-systems and Itconsists of mechanical framework, multifunctional controller and theupper software program parts.The main research work of this dissertation are as follows:1. At first, the paper introduces the detection requirement andfunction analysis of system, the detector adopts designing policy ofsensor, single-chip microcomputer controlling and database technology.The overall design framework is drawn up on the base of detectorfunction.The dissertation expatiates the principle and detection method.After that, this paper designs the mechanical framework of detector.2. According to design antilogy of modularization, the At89c52microcomputor is the core control chip and divides multi-functionalcontroller into six modules. The hardwares and circuit chart design ofmodules are finished.The PDIUSBD12 and Flash memory technology areselected to design the data store and communication module, which canrealize the storage and transfer of detection data efficiently.3. The software of the controller is programmed with the Keil C51programming platform. There are flow chart instruction for the mainprogram and the program of functional modules in detail. Additionally,the communication module's firmware is programmed in C51 as well.Thesoftware anti-disturbance measures are maken to build up the reliabilityof software system.4. The procedure of the upper parts is programmed by using theDelphi.The request of system function is analyzed, the applicationprogram and user interface are completed.The system adopts Access to develop database and generates the abrasion trending chart and outputdata report through ADO operation and SQL inquery to database.Finally, the paper has carried on the experiment and analyzed theresults, throughout the experiment, it can conduct the detector with highspeed and accurate data and reliable performance while the operation isrelatively simple. It proves that the detector has excellent utility value.
