With the development of modern architecture, people gradually attach importance to the relationship of architecture and environment, which leads higher requirement on architecture and environment and the change of their relationship. Different theories and architectures shed light and inspiration on how to deal with the relationship of architecture and environment, while architecture and environment means much more in the process of designing when we put architectural morphology·topographic structure into this background. To focus the influence of topographic structure on architectural morphology is a new start to recognize architecture from the perspective of environment.Architectural morphology is quite different in different topographic structure. The article, through the analysis and comparison of architecture designing works from the perspective of topographic structure morphologic expression, tries to recapitulate the general principle and method of architecture designing on the target ground environment. The analysis of designing tendency of different works makes us recognize the interactive relationship of architecture and environment and further our understanding of the nature of modern architecture.The article is divided into four chapters:The first chapter is an introduction to reason, object, extension, method and purpose of the selection of research subject.The second chapter is mainly explanation and demonstration of basic concepts. It elucidates the meaning, the elementary knowledge and evolution of architectural morphology and the characteristics and classification of topographic structure respectively, then analyses the dialectical relationship of architectural morphology and topographic structure.The third chapter simply delineates the exploration of influence of topographic structure on Architectural morphologic designing and then analyses, through the chosen works of some masters from different areas, the tendency and method in the architectural morphologic designing with ground topographic structure as clues, finally put forward to such thinking models as natural fusion, organic integration and explaining topography.The fourth part, on the basis and in the light of designing strategy of architectural morphology in the ground topography, launches a designing practice.The article holds a view that topographic structure is the source of architectural morphologic designing. Through the discussion mentioned above, the article concludes what is gained and lacked in this research, which is the basis for further research if possible.
