At present, the large-scale construction of rural road is going on in our country. Many regions choose appropriate materials and structure patterns of pavement according to local conditions, and enhance the development of the local economy and community. Pebble sand is wildspreadly applied to build rural road in Henan Pingdingshan According to the acturally using conditions, it can be seen that this material can satisfy the construction standard of rural road. During the using process of road, some serious early distresses of pavement have appeared because of unstable quality of pebble cement concrete. As for these problems, the material properties of the pebble aggregate have been researched, and then the mechanics characteristics of pebble cement concrete have been analyzed systemically. The typical pavement structure and criterion of construction quality control have been presented which can satisfy bearing ability and durability of the rural road criterion,. The main results of this study are as follows:1,By investigation of pavement behavior, conclusions of pebble cement concrete pavement used in Pingdingshan city have been summed up, then the distress and the reason causing the destroy of pebble cement concrete pavement are discussed mainly.2,Based on having analyzed the material property of pebble aggregate, the influence of changing volume proportion of gravel on mechanical properties such as crushing resistance,splitting resistance and rupture strength are studied by experiment of 486 specimens. The experimental results show that the strength dispersion of natural pebble concrete is very high and the strength change of natural pebble concrete is not remarkable.3,Based on the quality improvement of natural pebble, the influence of changing volume proportion of raw fly ash,water cement ratio,sand percentage and coarse aggregate limiting grain size on mechanical properties such as crushing resistance,splitting resistance and rupture strength are studied systemically by orthogonal experiment of 234 specimens. According to the experimental results, the optimum experimental ratios,the optimal amount of fly ash and the strength varied regulations of pebble cement concrete are presented.4,Based on the lab experiment results and investigations of pavement conditions, the typical pavement structure and criterion of construction quality of pebble cement concrete pavement have been put forward.
