The research background and trend of the general purpose machine gun isintroduced in this paper, and the structure of the Model M60 7.62mm- calibergeneral purpose machine gun is analyzed in detail. On the base of the nonlinear gas simultaneous equations of the gas chamberand the interior ballistics simultaneous equations, the closed gas chambersystem is studied deeply in the paper for the first time, The work processof it is divided into three phases, and the mathematics models of every phaseare built. This theory is more precise because it has taken into account ofdifferent forces on the automatic mechanisms in different time. The study canbe the academic foundation for further automatic design of the weapon likethat. The 2D and 3D mathematics model of the M60 7.62mm-caliber general purposemachine gun is built up on the base of the classical interior ballistics theory, weapon aerodynamics theory and multi-degree rigid-body kinetics theory."Dynamical Simulation Program of The M60 Purpose Machine Gun" is developedin VB language. Through the man-machine interactive interface, the influenceof every factor on the performance of the purpose machine gun can be analyzedconveniently and promptly. At the same time, the result can be outputted astables or curves. It can be used universally and definitely by changing someparameters. The ways to improve the firing rate of the M60 general purpose machinegun is studied. On the base of the multi-objective optimization design theory,"Firing Rate Optimization Program of The M60 Purpose Machine Gun" isdeveloped. Some projects that improve the firing rate are provided in thisdissertation.
