This paper introduces the domestic and overseas research background and the develop trend of 12.7mm machine gun, and analyzes the structure of Model 89 12.7mm machine gun in detail.Using the theories of classical interior ballistics, weapon gas dynamics, automation weapon dynamics and multi-degree rigid-body dynamics, the motion of single-shoot and multi-shoot are analyzed in detail and the 3D mathematics model of this machine gun is built up.Base on the mathematics model, the dynamics simulation and optimize software of the 12.7mm machine gun is developed. Through the friendly man-machine interactive interface, the influence of various kinds of structure parameters on the performance of the system's dynamics characteristic can be analyzed conveniently and promptly. In order to show the interior process and the motion of the machine gun directly, the results are shown as tables or curves.In order to optimize this gun, the results are analyzed. The influences on mechanism dynamics from eleven important parameters are concluded, which grounds the optimization theoretically. Taking several factors as optimization variables, optimization calculation is made to decrease the maximum pressure of the gas chamber and decrease the recoil velocity of the gun body. The optimization results is provided at last.
