| The front discharge mixer truck is a transportation vehicle which feeding and discharge materialmouths are at the top of the cab. Because of the broad vision, it is easy for driver to find the place ofthe feeding and discharge material mouths accurately. The driver can reach the place to load, unloadthe concrete once. It can improve the efficiency of loading and unloading, save manpower and lightenthe driver's labor intensity at the same time. So, the front discharge mixer truck has a very broadmarket prospect at present. In this study, the static and dynamic analysis of a frame of a front discharge mixer truck undervarious operating conditions were carried out using general finite element analysis software. And then,a modal test analysis was subsequently conducted to verify the results obtained from the analysis. Some suggestions were also presented to help further modification of the frame, which could improveits performance. Therefore, this paper has several practical values in leading to an appropriate framedesign of the front discharge mixer truck. This paper comprehensively summarizes the development of the finite element analysis of thevehicle's frame and introduces the basic principle of the finite element method in detail. The finiteelement model of the front discharge mixer truck's frame was realistically constructed by the pre/postprocessing software of HyperMesh,MSC.Patran and the building of the finite element model of thebalance suspension was discussed in this paper. The strengths of the frame under five typical operatingconditions were calculated by the finite element software of MSC.Nastran successfully. By the resultsof the analysis, the strength distribution can be given. In this paper, the modal analysis of the framewas carried also. By this way, the modal frequency and the modal shapes were obtained and thedynamic property of the frame was known. The modal test was carried out successfully, and finite element model was verified using theresults of the experiment. It is not only the theoretical foundation of the improvement but also thebasement of the further NVH study. |
