With the gradual implementation of network development strategy that" delivering electricity from west to east, the mutual supply between north and south, national networking", the area-cross transmission and networking have become the main measure to solve the contradictory between energy distribution and the power consuming in our country, and the national networking has become ultimately. In recent years, along with the expansion of power supply scope, the increase of transmission line quantity, difficulty and the complexity of management in is t also increased day by day. Specially, 500kV transmission line of Yunnan Province's is the he main artery of "power delivering from west to east " therefore, the quality requirement which manages to this transmission line also should be stricter.The transmission line management had to study and uses the new technical management pattern to substitute the past the traditional management pattern, caused the transmission line plan, the construction and the management marches into the scientific style quantitative, the automated track. The electrical network geographic information system can carry on the management to the entire electrical power system equipment under the visible environment, achieves the science plan, the standard design, enhances the electrical network movement the security, enhances the economic efficiency, realizes comprehensive management which produces to the power supply enterprise. The electrical network geography information technology is situated between the information science, the space science and the geo science emerging interdisciplinary science, uses it in the transmission line management, may the transmission line geographical position, the spatial information and the line equipment and so on the detailed information unifies in together, provides to be highly nimble, the visible tool manages the transmission line movement situation.
