Composite foundation has been widely used in practical projects because it enhances bearing capacity of natural ground with relatively low cost. CFG pile is the abbreviation of Cement Fly-ash Gravel pile, a kind of high bond strength pile made of cement, fly ash, reduced stone, rock chips and sand, mixed with water. It can be used to form compound foundation together with soils among piles and cushion course. CFG pile boasts many merits, such as high construction speed, short construction period, easy-to-control quality and low engineering cost. Now it is promoted all over the country. However, further research is necessary as theoretical study is far behind practice and many deformation calculation methods depend on experience. Deformation calculation methods of CFG pile composite foundation should be study. The main methods, contents and results in this paper are summarized as follows.1. Monitoring technology of settlement in different depth has been used in CFG pile compound foundation experiment. Some deformation rules is obtained. The deformation of upward and downward penetration is main deformation of CFG pile composite foundation reinforced area; the subjacent bed deformation tendency of CFG pile compound foundation is quite similar to the one of natural foundation.2. Deformation calculation methods of CFG pile compound foundation is discussed. Modified Code Method is suggested for deformation calculation of CFG pile compound foundation.3. Simulating on the deformation of CFG pile compound foundation by finite element software ANSYS is carried out. The result is quite close to the actual situation and the rationality of Modified Code Method is verified.
