Aircraft assembly, which not only has great workload and collaborates difficultily, but also requires high quality and difficulty technology, plays an important role in the aircraft manufacture. Therefore, how to improve the level of aircraft assembly technology has become one of pivotal problems to be resolved in aircraft research and manufacture. With the development of computer technology, information technology, automation technology, Digital assembly technology has becomes a new develop-direction of aircraft assembly technology. Because digital assembly includes many key techniques, and need to do many research work, so the paper only chooses aircraft digital assembly location as the research object, chooses the assembly of fuselage panel parts (shin and spar) as an research example, aims to study the method aircraft digital assembly location, focuses on the research of digital assembly location, completes the construction of the system based on the assembly of fuselage panel parts. The main research issues and achievements in this paper are as follows:1) Digital assembly technology relating to all the aircraft assembly, is a integrated technology. As the beginning of the research ,the paper makes a layout of digital assembly system, including the design of system framework, function modeling, information modeling, process modeling, and the design of system integration based on XML technology.2) The process of digital assembly location is complex, and has many key techniques. The paper study some key techniques, including: the location method and its assembly veracity; the analysis of location principle based on transformation of homogeneous coordinates; the research of digital assembly tool; the research of system control; and so on.3) From the research of digital assembly location's key techniques, the paper designs a pair of "crossarm" mechanical follow-up positioning device, and builds the system platform based on the device. And the thesis debugs the system, makes sure the system can run correctly. At last the paper designs the software of the system.
