As a member of WTO, our country attaches importance to automobile industry more and more, but our ability of independent research and development in automobile is limited. So the paper research in User Interface Design of automotive cab, which based on the project of National Development and Reform Committee specializing automobile which research innovating the figure of automobile based virtual design.On the basis of the industrial design methodology and the ergonomic theory, the paper summarized and analysed the factors such as eyellipse and fistellipse which impact automotive cab human-machine interaction quality, and excogitated the technics of UI design including windscreen evaluation, dashboard design and evaluation, rearview mirror design and evaluation, controllever design and so on. Then a prototype system of automotive cab UI design was developed based on technique of UG/KF, UG/Open UIStyler, and UG/Open MenuScript. The system was realized by utilizing the knowledge of automobile UI design and expertise in the interrelated field. Customized menu and toolbar was developed upon Unigraphics srandard interface. At the same time, frame of UI design knowledge library which is satisfied Chinese human dimensions constructed exploringly, and intelligentization of ergonomics-based design and evaluation for components in automotive cab was also preliminarily achieved and validated by instance,which actually remedied the deficiency lied in automotive cab human-machine design in China,also improved its efficiency and quality.
