Ningbo Town Harbor Area, 4 Berth Transformation Of Technical And Economic Feasibility Analysis

The demand for coal as one sort of basic resources is keeping increase with rapid development of national economy. Port as the pivot of goods transferring and repackage in water-land transportation, has changed greatly with the steps of times, therefore we must lay enough emphasis on development of port enterprises.Since the latter half year of 2003, vessels for coal transshipment in Ningbo port have increased radically. Lack of special berths for loading & unloading coal caused vessels' serious demurrage and great loss of transportation capacity. This article analyses the feasibility of rebuilding Zhenhai berth No.4 according to the actual situation of Ningbo port. An analysis of present coal discharging in port of Ningbo shows lots of source of goods flows to the neighboring ports and has greatly restrained the development of the port coal output owing to lack of coal special berths. Through the qualitative and quantitative analysis and prediction of coal demond from hinterland in Ningbo port, the author thinks that Ningbo has great potentiality for needs of coal. Therefore in order to solve this contradiction it is quite necessary to rebuild the present terminals, meanwhile the author puts forward technical feasibility and practical plan in details, which are confirmed through the appraisal. Any engineering project must be demonstrated its economic evaluation, this article tries to make an analysis of main economic beneficial index and the society benefits and finally an conclusion is drawn that the economic benefits after rebuilding the terminals is the best. In the end the author is very sure of technical feasibility and economical reasonability and thus providing valuable reference for the development of Ningbo port.
