The prefabricated flying plate detonator is a kind of new insensitive detonator. The flying plate will be obtained from the bottom of the sleeve by the bursting of its internal donor charge. And such sleeve is punched in a circle manner at the bottom.After assembling it with semi-manufactured detonator, the structure parameters of whole detonator were tested. The minimum initiating charge of different acceptor charge were determined to some acceptor charges. The minimum initiating charge to the loose PETN are 10mg, 10mg, 40mg and 10mg respectively, as the donor charge are NHN, Zr/KClO4, recrystalled PETN and recrystalled RDX. The results show that the acceptor charges which have proper granularity can be initiated reliably by the impacting of the flying plate. The function parameters,such as funtion time, output power, the impulsive force of the flying plate which flies 2mm were measured. The function time of PETN detonator is about 45μS. The explosive mechanism has been researched. By Gurney Formula , the extreme limit speed of the flying pate was calculated.The flying trace was discribed by high speed camera , then the average speed of different flying space was attained. When the donor charge quantity of NHN is 30mg, the average speed in 3.44cm flying distance is 412. 80m/s. At last, the miniaturization research of the detonator was carried on. It shows that the detonator can be miniaturized in the diameter around 3mm.
