The increasing quantity of the automobile causes serious problems such as pollution and energy crisis. Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) with Three-way Catalyst (TWC) is the main technology of gasoline engine nowadays , Air Fuel Ratio (AFR) has an important effect on gasoline engine's drive ability, economical and exhaust emissions. Model based AFR control technology has become a hotspot in gasoline engine control research , especially during transient conditions AFR could have a excursion because of manifold air flow and fuel film dynamics, so controlling of AFR this time is very important.Model based AFR control strategy requires accurate engine model first. Mean Value Engine Model (MVEM) is a non-linear model, but it is enough accurate and has a simple form and can satisfy real-time control , so it's a ideal model. Manifold air flow dynamic model calculates air mass flow into the cylinder when work and fuel supply system provides proper fuel in time according to AFR control purpose. Fuel film model takes the effect of formation of fuel film on the fuel flow mass into cylinder into account. This paper revised manifold filling dynamic model presented after researching on 495 EFI gasoline engine's intake process. The model has been simulated both during steady and transient operations and then validated by bench experiments. The fuel film model is also been revised and simulated, after that, two characteristic parameters of some operations have been identified by off-line. At last MVEM has been simulated and its precision has been validated.
