| The bearing capacity and settlement of the shallow foundation on soil is the important subject of the soil mechanics and foundation engineering. At the present time, we often adopt rigid-plastic limit equilibrium method to determine the ground bearing capacity, it radical hypothesis is the soil is not deformation in whole loading process, but when arrive at limit balance state it will shear deformation. Natural soil is not rigid-plastic body, so limit analysis just only a semi empirical method. Model test is an important means to determine the mechanical characteristics of soil and create, verify and improve the soil constitutive equation. In addition, it can also provide reference standard for the design of foundation, tunnel and slope engineering, etc. Under direction of similarity theory, model test is designed and made to simulate foundation deformation in it whole loading process in order to analyze deformation mechanisms and parallel with correlative theories and result of finite element. |
