This paper researches on the reconstruction of 104J pump in the ammonia composing equipments of China Petrol BaLin branch. The reconstruction is an affiliated project in the "Coal Replacing Oil" project.Firstly, the architecture and principium of the 104J pump is introduced, the requirements and scheme of the reconstruction is bring forward. Then the relationships among the 104J pump, the model pump and the reconstructed pump are explained.Secondly, focusing on the design of the model pump, the paper analyzes the structural and hydraulic design of the model pump. Experiments are undertaken on the model pump and the experiment results are analyzed. Furthermore, because the efficiency of model pump is lower then expectation, some improvements are taken on it.Thirdly, several critical problems in the reconstruction solution are researched in detail, including the axis force and its balance, the seal pattern and the calculation methods of the rotation rates conversion of the reconstructed pump.Finally, the experiment results of the reconstructed pump are analyzed and a conclusion is made that the reconstruction of 104J have meet the parameters demands and the efficiency has reached the national standards.
