Airborne Bistatic Synthetic Aperture Radar (Bistatic SAR) system is a newly developed radar system which operates with individual transmitter and receiver mounted on separate platforms. Because of several peculiar advantages such as long operating distance, high security, anti-attacking capability etc, recently Bistatic SAR has become a hotspot in the international research field. In the Bistatic SAR system there are several technical problems, which affect the radar imaging, such as complicated geometrical and signal models, phase errors caused by motion errors and attitude errors, and motion compensation etc. This dissertation gives empathies on these technical problems analysis.1. The general bistatic geometrical and signal models are built. 2. The RD imaging algorithm of Bistatic SAR, which works on classical 2-order range model especially on the parallel model in broadside side-looking and stripmap,is discussed.3. Motion errors are given first, and then theoretical analysis, simulation result show affections caused by 3 kinds of typical motion errors both on the Doppler and the image. Last the phase error criterions are given.4. Attitude errors are given first, and then theoretical analysis, simulation result show 3 kinds of attitude errors'affection both on the Doppler and the image.5. Motion compensations based on GPS/INS/IMU control system and PGA self-focus arithmetic are analyzed. At last one kind of motion compensation based on instantaneous motion-state is built and the compensation of RD is given too.
