Conformal Array Of Digital Beam Forming Technology Research

The conformal array is usually allocated on an aircraft, missile, or some other mobile platform conforming the shaped surface. Its major advantage is the aerodynamic of aircraft is almost not changed. In this dissertation, some algorithms and techniques of digital beam forming (DBF) of the conformal array are studied and also adaptive digital beam forming (ADBF) of uniformity circular array (UCA) based on wideband signal is investigated. This dissertation is organized as followed.In the first part of dissertation, the basic theory of conformal array is introduced. The three-dimension DBF of circular array and cylinder array are presented. We adopt equivalent with uniformity linear array (ULA) in cylinder beam forming, and compare pattern of directional elements with of omni-directional elements.The computer simulation results verify the validity of two adaptive algorithms applied to circular array. The algorithms are Least Square based on QR decompose (QRD-LS) and Sampling Matrix Inversion based on QR decompose (QRD-SMI).Then we apply circular array with wideband signal. We take the relation of grating-lobe between frequency, arrays commutation and concentric ring array into consideration, and select the proper elements for different frequency successfully.Finally, adaptive digital beam forming of broadband signal in circular array are investigated. There are two methods: one is ADBF based on traditional sub-band partition, the other is broadband focusing for adaptive beam forming. In the case of the main-lobe interference, we construct the preprocessing matrix, which cancels the main-lobe interference before adaptive beam forming. So the main-lobe aberrance is taken off.The dissertation focuses on the DBF of conformal array. The research will provide technique references for the further research of conformal array.
