Because of the advantage of high-speed, small-volume, high precision, high-reliability and modular, the products with CPCI have been applied widely in automation and test control. And they lead the development of small-scale and modularized with modern test instrument. According as the increasing requirement of ATS, all kinds of bus develop at full speed. The CPCI/PXI, VXI and LXI are preponderant in high-speed and high performance module instrument especially in digital instrument, but it is inaccessible to complex and traditional measurement equipments and instrument, such as microwave and RF measurement and test instrument, which still be tested by instruments with rack-and-stuck instrument. In order to realize the task of automatic test, the intellective interface of rack-and-stuck instrument still adopts GPIB in large quantity.Although GPIB have a history of decades, they are now applied so widely in consequence of convenience and simpleness in ATS building and manipulation. Because of big volume and low baud rate, it is unable to resolve the problem of complex test system especially the ATS that needs an amount of data acquisition.In order to resolve the problem in test system integration with complex equipments, the optimum way is building a test system with multi-bus. And the key point is making use of both modularized and rack-and-stuck instrument in one bus system. Based on the universality and the problem we faced with in the CPCI test system, this subject is the designing of interface module based on the CPCI-GPIB test system.According to the necessity of CPCI-GPIB controller interface module, analyzing the CPCI bus, GPIB bus and interface function in detail, the design accomplished the function of bridging connection, conversion of protocol, logic control and so on.
