Nowadays area conflicts and local battles are most forms in modern war, light towed howitzer which has many merits such as low weight, good strategically maneuverability, strong firepower, less dependent upon logistics and so on has been brought on the stage of war again, it could greatly improve the battle effectiveness of immediate reaction force. Though hydropneumatic mechanism of elevating and equilibrating which has multifunction of equilibrating and elevating was used in the design of 122mm light towed howitzer, it had important meanings such as simplifying structure, lightening weight, enhancing maneuverability and battle effectiveness of the artillery. At first the thesis analyzes the work principium and influential equilibrium factors of hydropneumatic mechanism of elevating and equilibrating. According its structural bearing traits, its former project was optimized with MATLAB optimization box, unbalanced moment of elevating part was decreased, and its equilibrium capability was also validated with imitation. Subsequently its structure was confirmed with optimized parameters, appropriate hand hydraulic pump was selected, and the intensity of its central parts was proofed, accumulator's compensatory spring was designed. Central parts of mechanism of elevating and equilibrating were also processed static, dynamic, flectional analyses with finite element method by using Pro/MECHANICA. In the end, its dynamical model was built and simulated in ADAMS, dynamical responding of its hydraulic elevating part was analyzed, gun muzzle's elevation disturbance in different fire angle and so on were obtained, work performance of mechanism of elevating and equilibrating was more studied.
