Taking Wuhekou bridge as the project background, a deep study on the whole process of the construction controlling of P.C. cable-stayed bridges, especially cable tension monitoring of parallel strand stayed-cable, was carried out in this paper. Compared with construction controlling methods of cable-stayed bridge, the contents of construction monitoring were elaborated detailedly. Based on the quadratic parabola instead of catenary, the cable vibration equation which the effects of the cable sagging, the bending stiffness, the boundary conditions and the effect of the pitch are considered was put forward, and the practical formula for cable force monitoring based on the cable vibration equation was also obtained. In this paper, the parallel wire stayed-cable and the parallel strand stayed-cable was compared with each another, and one method for cable force monitoring of the parallel strand stayed-cable system was acquired. The method was proved to be successfully in the project.
