Zhoushan is new city of China for island port and famous tourism.According to overall plan of zhoushan city, It is clear for zhoushan to be an important basement of ocean fishery and ocean development, modern port and famous island tourism.Nearly construction of zhoushan is developing sharply, living level of people is increasing quickly, the huge dock of liquefied petroleum gas(LPG) has been set up in the port, the people living in the city use the mixture of LPG and air by pipeline, the other people in county and small island use the bottled LPG.To the overall plan of China planning department about using natural gas, the opening up and utilizing is an important area of developing natural gas, this is one of the important content about plan and usage of energy resources in the tenth "five years plan" and society economy and development.Zhejiang is more developed province in China, it has a wide range in the future in using the natural gas.Up to now, the engineering that the natural gas is transported from west to east by pipeline has been brought to success, the natural gas from "west" has been used by part people living in Hangzhou city, the natural gas from Chunxiao in eastern ocean will get to Ningbo city of China in December .2005.In March last year the contract for importing and using the LNG had been signed between the Zhejiang government and the China ocean petrol company.In August last year the assessment of the report in advance for LNG project had been discussed and passed by specialists.These projects will provide reliable gas resources to Zhoushan people.Obviously, it is quick for Zhoushan people to use the natural gas.As a kind of pure energy, it is necessary and urged engineering for Zhoushan.In the past, the gas used by Zhoushan people was produced through distillation of coal, now it stems from the mixture of the LNG and air, the factory lies in Lingchen region, it is about 11km from Putuo, 12km from Dinghai.The gas was transported to Putuo and Dinghai by one pipeline named DN300 made for cast iron, therefore, the pipeline is very important, but the pipeline has been running for 13 years, along with raising in demand of gas, its quality will affect the reliability and stability to supply gas normally.According to developing plan of Zhoushan city, it is important to consider the usage of the natural gas in the future, so not only the preliminary design for gas transportation pipeline has been put forward, also each plan has been analyzed and compared at the same time in this article. In order to meet developing for societyeconomy and coordinate providing gas for balance, to improve the living quality of inhabitants in Zhoushan and modern level of city structure, the place for storage and supply and management in Dinghai and Putuo has been planned in advance in this article.
