For the power plant and substation, reliable DC power supply is very important to normal production and operation. And with the development of power system automation, computer control and the need of operation and maintenance, there are many new demands for DC power supply equipments. So it is very necessary to do some researches on this field.Considering the current DC power supply equipments and operation demands of the power network in Shengli oil field, this article developed a new DC supply device and implemented the control of automatic charge and discharge, system detect and communication. The device introduces a module design method and its core control is a PLC of Siemens' S7 series which is characteristic of high computing speed and powerful logical decision. As has been proved that automatic charge and protection of the storage cell can extend its life, then improve the reliability of the DC system.
