There are various applications for the halogen lamp and LEDs as new light sources, and the control of the power output of the light sources is of significant importance. This thesis proposes two multi-level power controlling systems: one for halogen lamp with embedded system, and the other for the ultra bright LEDs.The multi-level power control system of halogen lamp samples the input voltage, and controls the MOS switcher to output relevant pulse width which varies with the input voltage, so that the voltage drop of the lamp can be stayed in steady multi-level values, which turns out to be the steady multi-level brightness of lamp.Ultra bright LED power controlling system is used as the field illuminator of the microscope. The system uses MCU as the main processor, detects the LED illuminance in real time, and then controls the MOS switcher to output relevant PWM based on the re-setted illuminant level and the referenced LED illuminant value, to make the voltage drop of the ultra bright LED be in specific value.In this paper, we complete the multi-level power controlling systems designing for halogen lamp and LEDs. Some practical experiments are carried out, and certain research results have been obtained.
