As the fourth generation of solid cold light source, compared with the traditio nallight source LED has several advantages: easy to dynamically control the brightnessand color, small size, long service life, ultraviolet and infrared rays free, energysaving, strong beam directivity and so on. In recent years, With the rapid developmentof semiconductor solid-state lighting technology and the popularizing of the greenlighting, more and more LED light source occupies the lighting field. LED lightsource (LED chip) is an important part of the system, so the accuracy of sourcemodeling directly influences the target surface light field and energy distribution. Andat the same time, it is also the basis for the design of optical system optimization, soaccurate modeling of light source is one of the key technological researches of LEDlamp.To overcome the disadvantages of modeling application and the uncertainties ofthe reliabilities of the existing LED light source model and others, we study thereliability of light source modeling for distribution design on compact LED.According to the theory of non-imaging optics, taking the ray-file light model as thestandard. Considering the different demands of lighting on the target surface, analyses of thecompact pointing system and uniform light system are carried out.we have made a optimaldesign and analysis computation of the optical element when the beam angle is±15°、 ±10°、±5°for different lens and LED diameter ratio, by choosing the conventionalcompact total-reflection lens as the second optical element and using three modelingmethods including point light source model, surface light source model and ray-filelight source model. Experimental results indicate that surface light model can takeplace of the ray-file light model when the deviation of utilization of energy is within±2%, the beam angle is±15°meanwhile lens and LED diameter ratio is more than36:2. It happens too when the beam angle is±10°while the lens and LED diameter is44:2. In the case that the beam angle is±5°, and the lens and LED diameter ratio is82:2, the ray-file light source model can also be taked place by the surface lightsource model. However, the ray-file light source model cannot be replaced by thepoint light source model in any case when the deviation range falls into±2%. In theuniform light system, choosing the conventional compact transmission lens as thesecond optical element, the beam angle is57.8°. Experimental results indicate thatsurface light model、point model can take place of the ray-file light model when thedeviation of utilization of energy is±2%, the beam angle is±57.8°meanwhilemodeling ratio is more than30:2. research methods and oriented system. The resultsprovide basis for the system design and solve the problem of time wasting of assistingoptimal design by using ray light source model, which will be of great benefit to thefuture research.The first chapter introduces the development of LED lighting and the currentstate of the market. Moreover, the basic knowledge of LED (light emitting principle,optical properties) are introduced.The second chapter, the development course and basic content of non imagingoptics are introduced, And also emphatically describes the LED lighting syste m andbriefly introduces the software design.The third chapter introduces the way and the difference of point source, surfacelight source, ray light source, the basic design idea is presented.In the fourth chapter, with the directive as the goal in the compact systemstructure, studies on the reliability of point source, the surface light source, ray light source are accomplished.In the fifth chapter with uniform light as the goal in the compact system structure,researches on the reliability of point source, the surface light source, ray light sourceare carried out.At the end, all of the work are summarized and some opinions on futuredevelopment trend are given.
