With analyzing the structural characteristic of rock mass, using the basic principles of the geology control theories, this thesis researches thoroughly the development and geological characteristics of the structural plane, analyzes the effect of structure of rock mass and its environment conditions on mechanical properties. It comes to the conclusion that geological conditions decide the mechanical medium type of the rock mass and how it deforms and breaks under different geological conditions. Then the thesis analyzes the factors which affect the stability of rock slope and its disruption types, studies how rock slope comes to disrupt and what is the control factor. As a result, it is affirmed that it is geological conditions and structure of the rock mass that controls the deformation and break of rock slope and its stability.Block fracture rock slope is the key point the text researches. Using the methods of stereographic projection and analytic geometry, the paper researches detailedly wedge-shaped block, analyses the basic conditions to generate one and how all kinds of force distribute on it in different environments, and studies how to estimate its stability. Furthermore, the author tries to combine the two methods, to seek after a way to analyze with computer the probable wedges in slope. The basic idea and some problems in realization have been brought forward, and several primary steps have been realized by the author with VBA, which confirmed the feasibility of the idea.Linking to the geological project, the stability-analysis and reinforcement design of infall slope of Sanbanxi hydroelectric station , the author uses and tests the theories and methods in the practical engineering. after studying thoroughly the geological structure and rock characteristics, the paper analyzes the possible instable blocks cut by the structural planes and estimates their stabilities respectively. The analysis excluded the possibility that the slopes would disrupt on a large scale under common conditions. Then the field near the slope planebecome the most important parts in reinforcing the slopes because of the affection of joints and fractures that locate densely in this positions mostly. So it is proposed that shotcrete and bolt support should be adopted as main method and the reinforcement should be focused on this important parts and give attention to whole engineering region accordingly.
