Terrene is a very complex medium, and the slides of rock slope are influenced by the quality of terrene structures, ground stress, showing various types of damages such as: collapsing, sliding, dumping, buckling,etc. Rational analysis on the stability of rock slope, and on this basis, to study the reinforcement treatment seems to be very urgent. Rock-bolting and Shotcreting technology combines shotcreting technology with prestressed anchor, and is widely applied in the control over landslides of slopes, especially rock slopes.Through theoretical analysis and numerical simulations, this essay made studies on the stability of rock slope, and the strengthening effects of rock-bolting and shotcreting upon rock slope were evaluated and analysed. First, buckling collapse models were discussed, and the analysis on the stability of rock slope was carried out through rigid body limit equilibrium method and finite element method. Secondly, this essay made preliminary studies on the mechanism of reinforcement of slope through rock-bolting and shotcreting , and calculated the the safety factor after slope reinforcement using rigid body limit equilibrium method. While at the same time, through numerical analysis, a finite element dynamic analytical model was established for the interaction between shotcrete and slope. Through calculating safety factor of slope stability, the analysis and qualitative evaluation on the reinforcement effect of rock-bolting and shotcreting on slopes are carried out. Finally, this essay analyzed and summed up the differences between the two calculation methods and explained the reason why the results of the two calculation methods are different. Then the sensitivity analysis on the effect of the reinforcement effect of rock-bolting and shotcreting was carried.Through above-mentioned work, this paper made the following main results :(1) Recently, rigid body limit equilibrium method, supporting with the standard, is used most extensively in the analysis of rock slope stability;while finite element method is able to consider about the conditions of equilibrium and harmonious deformation, and the relation of stress and strain. This method is also able to lay a accurate foundation for the stress-strain analysis, useful to research the deformation and failure mechanisms of slope.(2) This paper also studied the mechanisms of strengthening rock slope through rock-bolt and shotcrete, and found that in the rock slope works, rock-bolt (anchor) played a role of pressure wall and composite beam, and except the well known infiltrating reinforcement effect to terrene, the surface of shotcrete also functions as adhesive.(3) By using rigid body limit equilibrium mothod and nonlinear FEM , the safety factors of original and reinforced rock slope stability were respectively calculated. Through comparison, we found that the safety factor calculated by rigid body limit equilibrium method is a bit smaller than the safety factor calculated by finite element method.
