Hydraulic valves are important parts of hydraulic systems and are mainly used to control the position, the velocity and the force of the working sets. Because of their simple structure, spool valves are widely applied in hydraulic systems. When the hydraulic oil of pressure goes through the chamber of spool valves, there is a axial flow force on the piston of spool valves due to the mutual conversion of kinetic energy between potential energy. The axial flow force makes the spool valves vibrate and increases the driving force on the piston, which will affect the working performance of the hydraulic system. Thus, how to reduce the effect of the axial flow force on the piston is the central task of this paper. In recent years, the development of the computer technology and the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) offers a strong tool for the analysis and research of the hydrokinetics. Therefore, the flow in the spool valves is simulated by means of CFD. Spool valves with different structure are analyzed on the basis of existing valves and their speed distribution, pressure distribution, and the effect on fluid axial force are gained by analyzing the flow state in the spool valve. In the course of analysis, two-dimension model of spool valves is calculated at first, and then three-dimension flow field are preliminarily discussed. The spool valves are obtained, which is of simple structure and low production cost and can compensate the axial flow force on the piston, and this conclusion provide a basis for the structure design of the spool valves.
